Projects: Planting the Seeds of Gardening

For many years, Finch Park—McKinney City Park located south of the historic downtown—was the chief focal point of civic beautification and planting projects by the McKinney Garden Club and remains so today.

New for 2018 is our partnership with the City of McKinney for additions and improvements for Finch Park.

In 2018, we are also partnering with the McKinney Monarch Initiative Project.

Our largest, and always successful, on going project is the “Home and Garden Tour” held every two years.  This is the club’s main fundraiser for our projects and scholarships for local students.  All of our members sell tickets and work as docents at the houses. Members also get a private tour of the homes and gardens before tour day. Download the Scholarship Application here.

New for 2018 is our “Seed Money” to provide resources for civic organizations or schools or plant-related beautification projects.
